Apparently some people in the neighborhood are tired of being preyed upon by men searching for a good time with a hooker (can’t say I blame the residents…who wants that shit in the neighborhood?) And apparently some of those men are upset that there is now a website devoted to reporting their illegal activities.
I especially chuckled over the “It’s an invasion of our privacy!” argument…oh give me a break. You’re having your [fill in the blank] sucked in an alley for five dollars, and you’re whining about your privacy being invaded? Seriously?
Ah, but what do I know? I’m just a yuppie barista.

I was looking around for some new blogs to add to the blogroll, as I’m deleting a few that either bore me or haven’t been updated in a while. This one really struck a chord with me…for many reasons. It’s a blog about the New York City that’s vanishing. The gritty, urban real New York. The architecture, the independent businesses, the people — they’re being replaced at an alarming rate by people and things that are…not as good. And I feel the same way sometimes about Baltimore, and especially Pigtown.
When people come into the cafe and say “This will be the next Federal Hill” or “This will be the next Canton”…I will continue to yell “I hope to hell not!” Because in order for Pigtown to become the next…whatever…it would have to lose the part of itself that makes this such a wonderful community, and I’m not willing to let that go. Are you?
