…this guy made me laugh hysterically:

Yes, I’m well aware that spraypainting a building is a crime. On the flip side, it’s better than a random “fuck you”. I had to laugh, though, when someone came into the cafe and said “Now it looks like we live in the ‘hood”. OMG are you kidding me? You knew you were moving to Pigtown, right? You knew its reputation before you moved in? Wow.

If I knew who came up with this rubbish, I’d beat the shit out of them with my Fat Max. What, because I’m a woman I’m supposed to want “pretty” tools? I suppose “useful” isn’t relevant…

I have to say — I get similar emails every once in a while, and it annoys the bejeezus out of me. At the very least, if you’re going to spam someone, get their name right. How hard is that? Really?
It reminded me of a letter I received from the Mayor’s office not long after I moved here to Baltimore. I was being invited to join the Mayor’s Council for the Arts or some such thing…it was a really nice letter, too. Except it was addressed to “Mr. Carl Ott”. In case there’s any confusion, I am not now…and nor have I ever been…a “Mr.” Nor is my name “Carl”. Clearly there was some sort of Typo Mania going on, but it really annoyed me. Would it have been so hard for the people who made up the invitation committee to find out my correct name and gender? Really? They seemed to know everything else about me that was relevant to the matter at hand, so my name and gender should have been a no-brainer. Ah, Baltimore…
Lesson learned: A little research…maybe two minutes’ worth…goes a long way.
